| i feel terrible that this is my first blog of the year but i guess it's better late (11 days) than never right? i trust that everyone had a nice and relaxing holiday and are off to a good start this year. i am blogging tonight because i was so moved by a film that i saw earlier today with my two dear friends martha and charlie. if you haven't already seen "the curious case of benjamin button" then i implore you to do so. brad pitt and cate blanchett were amazing as well as the rest of the cast . i savored each scene and was truly touched throughout the entire movie. there was not a single dull moment and i was sad that the story had to end even after almost three hours. i was kind of bummed that brad pitt didn't win the golden globe tonight for best actor nor did the film win for best picture. instead, "slumdog millionaire" won which was another terrific film that i saw last week. even though i genuinely liked "slumdog," i thought "benjamin button" deserved it more (my personal opinion of course). let's just hope that brad and company can take it home come oscar night. p.s. martha, thanks for a fun time this weekend!!! | | |

| yeahhhhh!! i just saw roger federer win his fifth CONSECUTIVE US Open title against andy murray!!!! that last point was unbelievable! did anyone watch it? he totally deserved the win tonight! and everyone doubted him after losing wimbledon against nadal. even though he's no longer #1, federer still got game. it's unreal to think that this is his first major title this year since he came up short at the australian, french, wimbledon, and the olympics. the US Open totally makes up for it though!! and damn, he even got a free LEXUS, wtf right? is was cool seeing federer live at the quarter finals this past thursday. martha and i had an awesome time watching him defeat this qualifier from luxemburg by the name of gilles muller. needless to say, federer won in straight sets making it possible for me to take the bus back to maryland on time. teeeheeee! i was super happy for serena williams winning her third US Open title last night against jankovic although i didn't get a chance to see that match! and good for her for getting back her #1 ranking!! the bitch is fierce!! | | |
| i can't believe the summer olympics have come to an end!!! i swear, this was seriously the most enjoyable olympics i've ever watched. i'm going to be in complete withdrawal the next few days as i don't know what to do with myself now. i've been so fixated on this that i find nothing else on tv remotely interesting (not even barack's pick for VP). no more late nights with bob costas who rocks!!! it's just as well as i shouldn't be staying up that late. it's funny, i've watched everything BUT the opening ceremony! teeeheeee! i dvr'd it but haven't had the chance to watch it yet. i guess this is good as i'll have something to look forward to and savor this week. i'm extremely happy that the US men's indoor volleyball took home the gold from brazil!!! too bad that the men's water polo team won silver but it's all good, better than not medaling at all! LONDON, here we come!!!.....mind the gap, mind the gap!!!! | | |
